Humanitas Switzerland

Status

EducationHUMANITAS is a private, independent, non-governmental organization established in 2004. It is registered in Switzerland as well as in India, it is recognized as a non-for-profit organization and has the tax-exempt status.

Functioning

As a private operating foundation, EducationHUMANITAS uses the bulk of its income to actively run its own programs or services, therefore it does not accept unsolicited proposals, but occasionally may offer fellowships, request for proposals, and awards that are open for application.

As important as the content of EducationHUMANITAS's work is the way it collaborates with others to develop its programs. In an open and trusting environment, the organization convenes working groups to discern areas of future activity.

EducationHUMANITAS does not spend money and time for unnecessary administrative and advertisement activites, but channels all the available financial resources directly to people and communities to be helped. All members and stuff of EducationHUMANITAS works as volunteer, no overhead paid for remuneration or for other administrative expenses.

EducationHUMANITAS believes in sustainable economy, therefore it does not relay only on charitable donations, but operates as service supplier under the principle of “Social Enterprise”, by reinvesting the generated benefits into its social activities.
